Friday 8th May - walk ***** – The Dip, Felixstowe with Maeva – sunny.

With Friday being Maeva day we decided to give the early morning walk a miss today, especially as sending pics into the BBC at the moment seems to be a bit of a waste of time as the local weather presenters have disappeared and the National ones are doing the reports! I had time to do my exercises in the sunny back garden, pack a picnic and peel the spuds for tonight’s roasty before Mag arrived with Maeva who was in fine form and well over her recent germs thank goodness! We had fun in the back garden with our box of musical instruments before we got into snipping wool which we turned into a cardboard lady before heading out in the van to park at my windsurfing car park at The Dip to enjoy our favourite time of the week, a picnic in the van! We had just finished our sandwich when Maeva said its time for a walk, well Mag and I walked and we pushed her ladyship in the buggy:) For a change we took the top path to the cliff top car park where we sat in a mass of buttercups for ages playing the who likes butter game with a buttercup under the chin! Maeva then had to walk down the steps to the prom and as she got back into the buggy again we continued past the golf course Martello Tower with the beach looking amazing with a mass of sea cabbage in bloom, we were collecting a small sample of flowers to make a posy to give to her Mum later! We turned when we reached the River Deben and came back on the lower concrete steps which was lovely with the light breeze now on our backs. We stopped for selfie time with Maeva pushing the camera button and running :) Then it was hide and seek around the beach huts before sitting on the steps at The dip to throw a few stones in where a wave wet them before returning to the van for a cuppa with our chocolate bar. Then home for the usual dose of Pepper Pig and book reading before taking her home, another brilliant Maeva Friday, she brings so much joy into our lifes:)
